The first step of the VFX is Match Moving which is when you have a 3D model and/or VFX in a real life shot video.
We started off with a video of a dolly zoom onto an area of computers with an empty space which our models would eventually sit. I started with setting up the and automatically creating tracker points. Since the video is 2D and to get an accurate match move we need to create a 3D space. Next I had to fix the lens distortion, which effects the edges of the frame, which we don't want. By using video we took of a checkerboard, Nuke analysed the grid and fixed the distortion, which I could then use to fix the distortion in the video.
I then moved onto creating a 3D cube and adjusting it to fit the actual size of the PC Tower and selected the tracking point next to the PC I was going to match move and dragged the cuboid over to it and matched the corner exactly.
I then had to export the geometry to covert it into Maya.
Overall, I didn't find this as easy too do, but with help from guided videos, I managed to finish with something I was happy with.
